Ikaika 2024

Ikaika is magic!

Each year, those of us present experience a dynamic transformation. For some of us the change is dramatic. Our battles with cancer alter our perspective, coloring our world uniquely compared to others. Our life journey not only refines our character but also unites us in a common perspective, making us a powerful support system for each other. ʻAʻohe lua e like ai! - Maile Enos, Program Director

Create an open, safe, nurturing environment that encourages the transformation of adolescent and young adult cancer patients into confident, independent and resilient thriving survivors through experiential learning.

IKAIKAʻS MISSION

2023 Retreat Participant

“Donʻt be hesitant to try it out ʻcause once you get there youʻll love it, because it was the same for me, I did not really know how I felt about it, until I actually tried it out and itʻs such a great experience for cancer patients because it really helps you get out of your comfort zone and express how you truly feel, and it feels great just learning about the culture and other people and spending time with other people who have gone through cancer.”

2023 Parent Testimonial

“My son seemed/seems to have a new hope and desire for life and a future that he did not prior to attending. It did him well to see people that have had to deal with the same types of treatments and hardships. He said the conversations are something that only “they” can understand. He said it was a positive family style environment and that he enjoyed himself. I am grateful my son had the opportunity to attend IKAIKA retreat. Thank you.”
